This ILT Series course introduces students to budgeting, types of budgets, and the elements of a successful budget. Students learn how to create a budget, analyze and compare budgets, and create operating and manufacturing budgets, and devise an action plan to solve a problem identified during variance analysis. Course activities also cover the basics of capital budgeting, discounting cash flow methods, determining discount rates, assembling a capital budget, and justifying a capital budget. Students also learn how capital budgets are evaluated and approved. This instructor's edition is designed for quick scanning in the classroom, and filled with interactive exercises.
