Course Description
Course Objective: You will examine the functions of a Notes database, its ease of operation, and its security management features.Target Student: This course is designed for computer professionals who will use Notes 8.5 databases to share information stored in one central location, but who may not necessarily use Notes as their email package.
Prerequisites: To ensure your success, we recommend you first take the following Element K course:
- Introduction to Personal Computers Using Windows XP
Hardware Requirements
- Intel® Pentium® IV or higher for the server; Intel® Pentium® IV, 1.2GHz or higher for the client
- 1 GB of RAM minimum; 1 GB or more recommended for the server; 1 GB or more recommended for the client
- 8 GB minimum disk space per partition recommended for the server
- 4 GB minimum disk space or more recommended for the client
- Disk swap space two times the physical RAM installed for the server
- Hardware support for OpenGL for the client
- Color monitor for both the server and the client
Software Requirements
Each computer requires the following software:
- Microsoft® Windows® XP
- Microsoft® Windows® 2003 Server (Standard or Enterprise)
- IBM® Lotus® Domino® server
- IBM® Lotus® Domino® administrator
- IBM® Lotus Notes® 8.5 Client
